Quicker Processing for Veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan Wars
The Social Security Administration through the GAO, GAO-09-762, is attempting to identify and expedite processing of disabled veteran’s cases. Veterans may be entitled to Social Security disability benefits as well as VA benefits. “Wounded Warriors” are identified as those vets who became disabled while on active military duty on or after October 1, 2001 regardless of where the disability occurred. The vet may be entitled to receive 100% of Title II Social Security disability benefits and service connected VA benefits.
